Modern Slavery Policy

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Eco Funding for Homes is fully committed to ensuring that no part of our business or supply chain is involved in modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, or any other form of human rights abuse. We recognise our duty to act ethically, transparently, and with integrity in all our operations, and to ensure robust systems and controls are in place to prevent modern slavery from occurring.

We remain committed to meeting our obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015, and we expect all staff, suppliers, and partners to remain vigilant to potential risks—however low they may appear.

This statement outlines the steps Eco Funding for Homes has taken, and continues to take, to identify, prevent, and address the risks of modern slavery across our operations and wider supply chain.

Understanding Modern Slavery

Modern slavery includes slavery, servitude, human trafficking, and forced labour. Eco Funding for Homes maintains a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery. We act with integrity across all business dealings and work continuously to improve the systems that safeguard our staff, stakeholders, and supply chain partners.

Our Business

Eco Funding for Homes specialises in residential decarbonisation and retrofit services, working across social housing and private domestic properties. Our work centres on improving energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, and delivering sustainable home upgrades.

Given the nature of our operations and supply chain relationships, we understand the importance of maintaining strict ethical and human rights standards across all business activities.

Our Policies

Eco Funding for Homes has a range of internal policies and controls in place to ensure ethical conduct throughout the organisation and supply chain. These include:

1. Recruitment Policy

We follow a robust recruitment process, including verifying each employee’s right to work in the UK, to protect against the risk of forced or illegal labour.

2. Equal Opportunities Policy

We ensure fair pay, fair working conditions, and access to training and development opportunities. All staff are protected from discrimination or exploitation.

3. Safeguarding Policies

We adhere to clear safeguarding standards for both children and adults. Staff understand how to report any concerns regarding the treatment of colleagues, service users, or individuals in the supply chain.

4. Whistleblowing Policy

We encourage employees to report concerns without fear of retaliation. All reports are handled confidentially and taken seriously.

5. Standards of Business Conduct

Our Code of Conduct outlines expected behaviours from employees and suppliers, including ethical and lawful work practices.

Our Supply Chain and Procurement Approach

We are committed to maintaining ethical and transparent supply chains. To support this:

• All suppliers are assessed using strict selection and due diligence processes.
• Our terms and conditions require suppliers to comply with all relevant labour laws and modern slavery regulations.
• We use the standard Supplier Selection Questionnaire (SQ), which includes a mandatory section on modern slavery compliance.
• Staff must involve our Procurement team when engaging with new suppliers to ensure proper checks are completed.
• We reserve the right to terminate contracts with suppliers found to be in breach of anti-slavery obligations.

Eco Funding for Homes expects every supplier—direct or indirect—to uphold our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery.

Managing and Assessing Risk

To monitor and reduce modern slavery risk, we:

• Assess potential risk areas before onboarding new suppliers.
• Periodically review and audit existing suppliers.
• Conduct spot checks where appropriate.
• Encourage and protect whistleblowers.

To date, we have not identified any significant risks of modern slavery within our operations or supply chain, but we remain vigilant and proactive.

Training and Awareness

We provide ongoing training to ensure staff understand the signs, risks, and reporting procedures related to modern slavery. This includes:

• Inclusion of our Modern Slavery Policy in the Employee Handbook.
• Mandatory safeguarding training covering modern slavery and human trafficking.
• Induction training for all new staff members.

We are committed to expanding training and awareness measures to ensure the highest standard of vigilance throughout the organisation.

Key Performance Indicators

We measure the effectiveness of our approach through:

• Zero reported incidents from staff, the public, or law enforcement.
• Ongoing compliance with policy requirements.
• Continuous evaluation of supplier practices.

Our Commitment

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It has been approved by the Board of Directors of Eco Funding for Homes and will be reviewed and updated annually.
